# Lorentz Force

Lorentz force, abbreviated as F, is when you place a moving charged particle in a magnetic field.

## Lorentz Force formulas

 $$\large{ F = q \; v \; B }$$ (Lorentz force) $$\large{ F = I \; L \; B }$$ (straight current carrying wire that is not moving)

### Where:

$$\large{ F }$$ = Lorentz force

$$\large{ q }$$ = current in the wire

$$\large{ q }$$ = electric charge

$$\large{ L }$$ = length of the wire that is in the magnetic field

$$\large{ B }$$ = magnetic field

$$\large{ v }$$ = speed of moving charge
