Constants

Physics constant, also called universal constant, are basic quantities observed in nature and the universe.  These physical constants are part of our everyday life and can be written in different units.

Constant Glossary

C

• Coulomb's Constant  -  The electric force constant, or the electrostatic constant, it is a proportionality constant in electrostatics equations.

D

• Dielectric Constant  -  The measure of a substance to an electric field expressed as the ratio of its electric displacement to the applied field strength.

S

• Specific Gas Constant  -  Deals with the universal gas constant which is equal to 8.314 joules per Kelvin.
• Spring Constant  -  The ratio of opposing force to the displacement from the origional position or how much force is needed to change a springs distance.
