# Pascal's Law

Pascal's law states that the increase in pressure is uniformly applied in all directions in a confined fluid.

Where:

\(\large{ \Delta p }\) = pressure differential, hydrostatic pressure between two points

\(\large{ \rho }\) (Greek symbol rho) = density

\(\large{ g }\) = gravitational acceleration

\(\large{ h }\) = height of liquid column

\(\large{ p_b }\) = pressure at bottom of column

\(\large{ p_t }\) = pressure at top of column

Solve for:

\(\large{ g = \frac {p_b - p_t } {\rho \;h} }\)

\(\large{ h = \frac {p_b - p_t } {\rho\; g} }\)
