Dalton's Law

Dalton’s law states that the total pressure of a gas mixture is equal to the sum of the partial pressures of the individual gas components of the mixture.  Both Dalton's law and Amagat's law predict the properties of gas mixtures.

Dalton's Law formula

\(\large{ P_{total} = P_1 + P_2 + P_3 +...P_n  }\)

Where:

\(\large{ P_{total}  }\) = the total pressure of a gas mixture

\(\large{ P_1 P_2 P_3 ...P_n  }\) = the partial pressures of the individual gas components of the mixture
