This fluid velocity formula is used in Hazen-Williams equations and the coefficient formula.

Hazen-Williams Equation Mean Flow Velocity Formula

(Eq. 1)  \(\large{ v = 1.318C   r^{0.63}      m^ {0.54}   }\)     (US units)

(Eq. 2)  \(\large{ v = 0.85C   r^{0.63}      m^ {0.54}   }\)     (SI units)

Where:

\(\large{ v }\) = mean flow velocity

\(\large{ C }\) = Hazen-Williams Coefficient

\(\large{ m }\) = hydraulic grade line slope

\(\large{ r }\) = hydraulic radius

Solve for:

\(\large{ C = \frac {v} { 1.318   r^{0.63}   m^{0.54} }  }\)

\(\large{ m = \left(   \frac {v} { 1.318C   r^{0.63} } \right)       ^{\frac {1}{0.54} }  }\)

\(\large{ r = \left(   \frac {v} { 1.318C   m^{0.54} } \right)       ^{\frac {1}{0.63} }  }\)
